The Holiday Residence

Are you looking for a change of scenery? You won't be disappointed!

The Dominican Cloister, called the Dominican Convent from the16th to the18th century, was part of the former castle of the barons of Mévouillon. The Baron de Mévouillon asked for permission and 1294 to found a convent of friars preachers but this one burned by the Protestants. The Dominicans bought the chapel of Saint-Georges inside Buis-les-Baronnies around 1580 but the enclosure was built after 1635 and then enlarged until after 1740.

During the French Revolution, the buildings were confiscated and sold. Bought by the municipality, it housed the town hall, the boys’ schools, the gendarmerie and others. The Cloister has been classified as a historical monument since 1974.

For 25 years now, the company Escapade, of which Stéphane is the manager, has occupied the premises as holiday residences and welcomes you in the former priests’ cells transformed into studios for 2 to 5 people.
